Independence offers freedom, but it also demands structures that can sustain the work.

Independent cultural work is often romanticised as complete freedom. The reality is more interesting: independence requires systems, relationships, patience and an ability to decide what not to chase.

The question is not only how to remain independent, but how to build conditions in which independence can last.
